International Module

A double-degree program from the Institute d’Administration des Entreprises (IAE) of the Université Pierre Mendès-France in Grenoble or the Institute d’Administration de Entreprises (IAE) of the Université Aix-Marseille III in Aix-en-Provence, France

1. Institutional Aspects of the program

FIA’s Technology Information Management MBA program maintains exchange partnerships with the Institutes of Business Administration of the University of Pierre Mendès-France in Grenoble and the University Paul Cézanne-Aix-, Marseille III in Aix-en-Provence, France.

These universities are recognized for their research, graduation and post graduation programs in administration and technology.

Through these partnerships FIA is able to offer its students who have completed their Technology Information Management MBA the possibility of enrolling in the regular Master’s or MBA program of one of these universities. The selection process for application takes place every year by the MBA GTI-FIA.

The advantage of this is that the French universities accept the equivalent course credits obtained in the courses of FIA’s Technology Information Management MBA.

Those disciplines of the Masters in Sistèmes d’Information or the MBA Change and Innovation where there is no course equivalence in the FIA GTI Master program are taken during the four weeks of intensive study in France and are administered in English by professors in Grenoble or Aix-en-Provence. There are preparatory activities to be completed in Brazil as well.

The title at the IAE Grenoble course is a Masters in Systèmes d’Information. The title at the module at the IAE in Aix-en-Provence is an MBA in Change and Innovation.

a) The regular student of the program is submitted to the regulations and evaluation processes of the French universities. For those approved in the program, the diplomas of Master Sistèmes d’Information or the MBA Change and Innovation are issued by the French Ministry of Education. The degrees are valid throughout the European Community. However, the titles conferred in France have no corresponding Brazilian degrees.

b) Participation in the international module is optional and has an additional cost and is offered each year only if the minimum number of participants is met.

1. Date and location of the next module
The next MBA Change and Innovation program in Aix-en-Provence will be offered in January of 2012. Exact dates and further details such as room & board will be informed at a later to the MBA-GTI FIA students participating in the module.

2. Course program and characteristics
All classes and activities of the course in France will be given in English. Thus, participants must have fluency in spoken and written English.

Part of the course disciplines are taken in Brazil and administered by French university professors. This precedes the study period in France and lasts 4 weeks with fulltime dedication of the students. Some disciplines in France allow the student to conclude course projects upon their return to Brazil.

The course complements FIA’s MBA GTI with a European and international emphasis on developing managerial competencies, understanding and dealing with organizational processes and individuals in a rapidly changing environment. The course covers strategic management, marketing, competitive intelligence and international operation management, as well as intercultural management aspects. Also covered are themes regarding virtual organizations, new electronic commerce business opportunities, productive chain fragmentation and questions about the information society. The concepts of these themes in the classroom is complemented with research and projects and technical visits to model companies.
